History

ATE was set up as the European distribution subsidiary of Automated Technology Associates (ATA) established in 1983 in Indianapolis, USA. Throughout the 1990s we specialised in offering ultra-high-performance, memory-resident maunfacturing databases to the telecomms and engineering industries.

The main product, ERDB (later Xcelerix) offered vastly superior performance over standard disk-based databases, and even surpassed traditional databases when they were run in main memory, thanks to its rejection of the relational table view of data.

Hundreds of ERDB systems have been deployed throughout Europe for mission-critical applications. The database is rock solid and has purported uptimes in the telecomms sector of over 10 years of 24x7 operation with zero database failures.
